Alto Alto - Broken Fin

Alto alto kick into gear with guitar melodies galore that bounce effortlessly off each other whilst backed by a thundering beat. This is definitely indie rock music but still instantly reminiscent of Brit pop bands from the early 2000's. I definitely get a Kaiser Chiefs-esque feel to their music with a sprinkle of Franz Ferdinand in their guitar work. The song rises and falls so effortlessly in dynamics and has textures that are well placed and timed very well to keep the listener truly engaged. The persisting melody in the vocals is so memorable and easy to sing along to as it digs into the long term memory section of your brain after only a couple of listens. It's so great hearing a new indie band kicking off their releases as strong as Alto Alto have here. There are so many moving parts to this song that all halt for a brilliant drop down after the guitar has ripped the sound barrier with screams from the top frets. This then allows the band to build us back into the song, despite the expectant final chorus normally fitting into this slot they cleverly retain the listeners anticipation by holding back with another verse before a massive finish.

Loved this song from the first listen. It's energetic and full of so many great parts that complement their ability as musicians as well as songwriters. It's arranged so well with a great production value and I honestly can't wait to hear more of their stuff and watch them develop even further. What a way to start what is hopefully a long and incredible career.
